Dear Maria Coin community,

We are thrilled to announce the release of the new Maria Coin update, version 5.5.0. This update is mandatory, and it is effective immediately. We urge all users to upgrade their wallets to the latest version as soon as possible to ensure the smooth operation of the network.

The new Maria Coin wallet is now live, and we would like to remind you that the old wallets will no longer be accepted. Therefore, it is essential to download and install the latest version of the wallet to continue participating in the Maria Coin ecosystem.

This update brings several exciting features and improvements to the Maria Coin network, including core improvements, fixing DAO functionality and its adjustments, reward adjustments, bug fixes and code improvement. These changes are crucial for the long-term success of the network, and we are confident that they will contribute to the overall improvement of the Maria Coin ecosystem.

This, so far, is the most significant update (after the launch) due to the number of improvements and fixes (mostly invisible to an ordinary user).

We would like to thank the entire Maria Coin community for their continued support and commitment to the network. We believe that this update will make a significant difference in enhancing the user experience and the overall performance of the network.

Those, who did download the 1st version of the v 5.5 wallet (before this update) > please make sure that your Maria wallet current block count matches the current block number at the https://explorer.mariacoin.com

No other Maria chains nor wallets (wallet versions) are functional after this wallet > just the ones that are on the correct chain.

wanted to do the necessary update of the wallet.
but unfortunately that didn't work. 1 error message = Error initializing block database, do you want to rebuild it? confirmed with OK. then the error appears Error opening the database. can anyone help. oh so before that I was on wallet 1.9.0

Hey.

Same thing happened to me.

What I did was after I installed the new update from github.
After it was installed download the bootstrap and then copied the files from inside into data folder.
Mine was located here (C:\Users\Myusername\AppData\Roaming\MARIA)

Hi my wallet is 1 block forward than the explorer and all my masternodes have status missing now. My rewards I got last 10 hours are gone somehow. What do I have to do next ? I copied all bootstrap files in Maria files.  I also don't receive MN rewards anymore do the MN hosters also have to upgrade? Is it necessary to restart all Masternodes with the new wallet now?

Hi,

1) Switch off the wallet
2) go to your Roaming folder, usually: C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming
3) choose the folder maria
4) delete the folders: blocks, chainstate, database, evodb, sporks, zerocoin
5) delete files: .lock, .walletlock, banlist.dat, budget.dat, fee_estimates.dat, fee_estimates.dat, mempool.dat, mncache.dat, mnmetacache.dat, mnpayments.dat, netrequests.dat, peers.dat

DO NOT DELETE: wallet.dat and folder 'backups'

One of the immediate changes you will notice, the rewards are a little different.

MN reward: 479.52 $Maria
Staker reward: 319.68 $Maria

In the prior version, the MN and staking rewards were hard-coded.

We went from static values (prior not matching the set goals in mathematical terms) to dynamic values determined by mathematics.

Hi, yes, I did miss this one.

1 block discrepancy is fine (sometimes the block explorer gets 1 block behind)

Missing masternodes. Please contact the person or company that manages the masternodes > they need to update the masternode wallets to the new 5.5.0 version that these work.

For the Masternodes to work > you need to have 2 up-to-date wallets, where 1 is (usually) your desktop (holds the locked MN collateral) and the masternode vps (another wallet on the vps or server).

Are you hosting your masternodes with Kim (NodeStats)? .. I have been told that he is working un updating the masternode wallet versions > this isn't as fast process if you have lots of masternodes under management.

Yes I'm working with nodestats and pecunia. So I think all MN should need a restart then after upgrading the wallets right? Do you know why the last rewards of the last 12 hours disappeared in the wallet balance?

2. Can you give us the new configuration for best staking results for the new wallet version regarding stakesplitthreshold and Autocombine rewards?

I think you cant take the balance after that date to your new wallet , am i right? Only the balance before upgrade ?

maybe because your masternodes were mining on the wrong chain > the update process was a bit more lengthy than expected. Still, we fought through and straighten the chain out in the end

addnodes are added manually at both, your desktop wallet, and masternode wallet configuration files.

many of the not-updated wallets will start getting error messages and will just crash // some others will slowly lose connections and will just die off.

please understand that the whole support structure of seednodes, blockexplorer, changes where you can trade Maria are on the new Maria 5.5.0 wallet.

about the exchanges > we warned them long time upfront about the upcoming updates, and shortly before starting the physical process advised them to put deposit wallets in maintenance (that users can't deposit and withdraw Maria coins, in order to avoid possible double-spend problem)
