I fully believe our government has knowledge of extraterrestrial life. Not only that, but I'm sure they have recovered plenty of debris and reverse engineered tech from it  :o
 
I don't know about conspiracy or governments around the globe, but to think that we are the only species in the whole universe is the same as to think that the Earth is flat. ;) :D
